The Kaduna State Government has dismissed media report claiming that the state has been renamed Zazzau State.
This is contained in a statement signed by Special Adviser Media and Communications to the State Governor, Mr Muyiwa Adekeye.
Mr Adekeye who described the news as fake called on citizens of the state to ignore the report.
According to report, the news making the rounds on some online platforms claimed that the National Assembly had passed the Bill renaming Kaduna State, which was subsequently sent to the Senate President Ahmad Lawan and President Buhari for assent.
It also claimed that the bill which was jointly sponsored by Senator Suleiman Abdu Kwari and Senator Uba Sani of Kaduna central got the approval of 13 members out of 15 of the lower chamber representing different parts of Kaduna State
It noted that President Buhari has signed the name change into law, it will be reflected in the amendment of the 1999 constitution.
While reacting to the report, the Senator, representing Kaduna Central, Uba Sani denied the report adding that it was malicious and false information.
