JOHESU, NANNM Passes Vote Of Confidence On CMD FTH Lokoja, Calls On President Tinubu To Ignore Campaign Of Calumny

The Federal Teaching Hospital, Lokoja Chapter of the Joint Health Sector Union, JOHESU, and the National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives, NANNM, dissociated the Unions from purported crises said to be rocking the institution by some online reports and as such called on President Bola Tinubu and other stakeholders to disregard the false and fabricated story.

The calls was contained in a joint Press Conference addressed by the chapter JOHESU Chairman, Umoche John and that of NANNM, Abdulmalik Idris in Lokoja.

They therefore lamented that what is happening now is a calculated attempt to distract the good intention of the renewed hope agenda of His Excellency President Ahmed Bola Tinibu and the achievements recorded so far by the Chief Medical Director, Doctor Alabi led administration.

JOHESU and NANNM leadership regretted that the press war engaged by ARD of the hospital is a calculated attempt to the demarket the tertiary institution to the general public and an attempt to rubbish the good work of the CMD through false publications.

The Unions passed a vote of confidence on the Management and the Chief Medical Director ,Dr.Olatunde Alabi , stressing that the action of the group negated the civil service rules and regulations .

“That the said publication is a complete opposite of the situation in Federal Teaching Hospital Lokoja (FTHL) and the author does not mean well for the hospital and the inhabitants of kogi state.

“That it is expected that every staff member of the hospital especially the front line healthcare providers be seen to be of high moral standard and not be found wanting in this regard or be given the opportunity to exhibit or continue to exhibit misconduct.

That no one should be seen or be exempted from the ‘above so as not to create a wrong impression in the minds of other health, on co-workers which could be a recipe for future anarchy.

That the hospital is being governed by the top management staff .
under the leadership of the CMD and decisions on issues ‘brought before her are taken at that level after serious evaluation and
consultation with the public service rules, and not by an individual

“That what is happening now is a calculated attempt to distract the good intention of the renewed hope agenda of His Excellency President Ahmed Bola Tinibu.

“We therefore, call on our able President and other stakeholders to disregard the false rumor of crisis rocking FTHL, the Unions posited .

The management, the Union stressed is doing the best possible within the available resources to keep the health facility as one the best around.

On the issue of the number of Doctors in, FTHL, the Union said , it has a total of 228 qualified Doctors as against the purported 48 claimed in the online report.

Also speaking, a Consultant Clinical Pharmacist, Pharmacist Doctor Lawal Mohammed described the online report as unfortunate and an attempt to smear the hard won image of the institution and that of the management by the ambition of one man appealing to the media to always cross check thier facts instead of engaging in sensational reports.
