The Kogi State Council of the Joint Public Service Negotiating Council, JPSNC, has condoled with the Management of the Federal University Lokoja, FUL, over the recent accident that claimed the lives of students along Felele highway.

The Council also commiserated with bereaved families and Kogi State Government over the carnage.

A statement by the State Chairman of JPSNC, Comrade Olusegun Alemeru in Lokoja described the incident as unfortunate, sad and painful as it involves the loss of lives of future leaders of the country.

Comrade Alemeru appealed to the Federal Government as a matter of urgency to put permanent measures in place on the road to put an end to incessant accident resulting to loss of lives by careless and reckless truck drivers.

Accident to him, the Federal Ministry of Works and FERMA should swung into immediate actions on the matter as well as collaborate with Kogi State Government on the matter.

He urged the students of FUL, to remain calm, law-abiding as the State Government is working with relevant authorities to find amicable solutions on the issue.

JPSNC prayed for families of the deceased for fortitude to bear the irreparable loss and the grieving University Community.
