Dedication, selflessness and commitment to official duty has been said to be the secret behind the academic excellence being witnessed at the Government Science Secondary School, Lokoja.

The Principal of the College, Mr Ibrahim Onipe disclosed this while speaking to Journalists in Lokoja.

Mr Onipe said the recent performance of students who sat for the recently released WAEC result attest to the high educational standard of the College which he stressed is second to none in the State.

According to him, the Supervising Ministry and Commission have put the necessary machinery in place to make sure secondary education in Kogi State is given the right attention and priority to attain set goals.

The Principal called for continue training and retraining of teachers for optimum performance as well as appeal for a bus for the transportation of students and staff in view of the distance of the Institution from the town.

He expressed appreciation to the State Government for it’s focus on the School and urged it to sustain the tempo.

On discipline, Mr Onipe said Science Secondary School Lokoja remain on top among others as it’s students and Staff conform to highest standard of responsibility in all ramifications.

Science Secondary School Lokoja, located along Zone eight of the Nigeria Police is a fenced institution with close to a thousand students in a conducive atmosphere of teaching and learning but still need government attention in areas of more teachers, facilities and training and retraining of it’s staff to maintain the status quo and achieve set goals.
