Mothers have been charged to continue to live an exemplary life both at home and the society.

The Minister in charge of First Baptist Church, Iyara Deacon Johnson Fagbemi, gave the charge at the celebration of Mothers day in Iyara, Ijumu LGA of Kogi State.

Deacon Fagbemi said Mothers as home builders must of necessity live above board in all things with the fear of God as thier guiding principles.

Speaking on this year’s theme of the Celebration of Mother’s day: “Mothers As Unto the Backbone” and citing scriptural references from Titus 2v3-7, and Proverbs 31v22-28, he urged mothers to shun all acts of irresponsibles as well as the need for Fathers to be supportive of their wives to build a responsible home.

Speaking, the Chairperson on First Baptist Church Iyara Women Missionary Union, WMU, Mrs Bosede Aladuge said the theme of the Church this year’s celebration is unique as Mothers are compare to the backbone which act as a major support to the body which represents the home.

The WMU Chairperson called on Fathers to continue to support the Mothers to train thier children in the way of the Lord as lay down by the scripture.

As part of this year’s celebration, an award was presented to Bro. Olusegun Oyenibi for services rendered to the Church in years past as part of the founding members as well as posthumous awards to Deaconess Aiyenigba and Mrs B. Oshatogbe by the Church WMU.
