AIG Zone Eight Police Command Reaffirms Commitment To Strengthens Policing With PCRC.

The Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 8, Headquarters, AIG Abubakar Zubairu, has reaffirmed the commitment of the Zonal Command to partnership with relevant stakeholders in the fight against crimes and criminality.

AIG Zubairu stated this when he received the Zonal Police Community Relations Committee, PCRC, Executive led by the Chairperson, Hajiya Rabietu Okute in Lokoja.

According to him, the issue of security is a collective responsibility by all, hence the need for collaborative efforts in the area of intelligence gathering and sharing to achieve set goals.

He assured the Committee of the continued partnership of the Zonal Command in accordance with the Constitution at all times urging active participation of the public for result oriented policing of the Zone.

Earlier, in her remarks, the Zonal PCRC Chairperson, Hajia Okwute who also doubles as the Kogi State Commissioner Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation said the visit was aimed at strengthening collaboration with the Zonal headquarters in ensuring effective implementation of community policing in Kogi and Kwara States respectively.

She further expressed deep appreciation to the AIG for the warm reception acknowledging the crucial role of the Zone in maintaining Law and Order as well as effective policing of the Area.

She assured of the unwavering commitment of the Zonal PCRC in sustaining cordial relationship between the Police and the PCRC.

The visit featured a robust interactive session where issues on community policing activities were deliberated upon.
