Nigerian Youths have been charged to prepare themselves adequately for leadership roles in the country.

A guest lecturer and human management development Consultant, Mr. David Jagun Ehimony gave the charge at the AGM, Lecture and Award presentation of the Advocacy For Youth Leadership In Governance, Kogi State to organisations and individuals for making giant strides and impacts in the society.

He said the youths should strive at being award winners not givers as the future is bright enough to accommodate their ingenuity of a greater nation.

On the topic; ” Veritable Roles of Youth in Democratic Governance” Governor Usman Ahmed Ododo as a case study, Mr Ehimony said the Governor performance beyond peoples expectations was necessitated by his adequate preparation for governance.

According to him, leadership is not gotten on the platter of gold but rather on serious preparation and determination for success.

Earlier, the President of the organisation, Mr Abiodun Ajinomoh said the Organisation is poised towards engaging youths in governance by preparing them for the task ahead.

He said the occasion affords the body the opportunity to recognise modest achievements of organisations and individuals who have made meaningful impact on lives and society for the greater good of humanity.

According to him, those recognised are properly screened based on their performances and the need to groom youths for leadership positions.

In a remark one of the awardee and chairman, Magistrate Association of Nigeria, Kogi State Chapter, Mr. Ibrahim Denja Eleson, who bagged an award as ” The Best Performing Magistrate in Kogi State” described the lecture as challenging, urging those in attendance to get prepared for a greater future through hard work, diligence and due process.

Also in a remark, Engr Sunday Baba who bagged an award of the; ” Best Performing Director in Kogi State” expressed appreciation for the recognition given to his modest contribution to the society as well as his people from Odogomu who came to rejoice with him.

APC State Youth Leader, Mohammed Mohammed who also was awarded the; ” The Digital Youth and Peace Ambassador in Kogi State” called on the youths to get actively involved in partisan politics.

Others recognised and awarded at the occasion include; Senator Natasha Apoti Uduaghan representing Kogi Central as the “Best Performing Senator In Kogi State, Hon. Salman Idris, Member House Of Rep as best performing member from Kogi West and Hon. Tijani Ozigi as Best Performing Member House of Rep from Kogi Central.

Others are Hon. Idris Zachariah as best performing member House of Rep form Kogi East, best performing Lecturer in Kogi State, Doctor Awa Grace Ehimony, best performing Legal Practitioner in Lokoja, Barr. Mohammed G. Mohammed, best Motor Spare Parts Dealer in Kogi State, Mr Augustine Ejefobiri, Doctor Bolufemi O. Olarewaju as “The Digital Serial Entrepreneur In The 21st Century”, Treasury Eatery as the ” Best Eatery in Kogi State, While the “Best Fashion Designer Award in Kogi State” goes to Mrs Babalola Ifejola Sherifat.
